R/Shiny application for the Colorado Health Institute
Web application to explore health data in Colorado

The project
We developed a Shiny application for the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) that allows users to breakdown and review data on insurance coverage, health care affordability and other factors from the Colorado Health Access Survey. The tool was designed to be embedded in an existing web page developed by CHI and includes maps and charts providing detailed views of several health-related topics broken down by demographic categories.
Our role
We built the tool from start to finish -- from design to deployment. We worked closely with CHI to assess their needs, determine what types of charts and breakdowns would be required and choosing fonts and colors that would fit nicely in their existing site.
Features of the work
- We wrote the application using R/Shiny.
- We employed Shiny modules to organize and namespace the code.
- We used
highcharterto create responsive charts. - We took advantage of the
renvR package to manage dependencies.
