May 1, 2015: New report on air pollution in NYC

A new report by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Queens College and ZevRoss Spatial Analysis shows impressive improvements in New York City air quality 2008-2013. Concentrations of major pollutants declined 16-69% during this time period. The biggest declines were in sulfur dioxide – a direct result of new regulations that phase out dirtier heating oils.
